Welcome to the Prayers of Rest podcast.

So take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's passage comes from Psalm 16 verse 11.

You make known to me the path of life.

In your presence there is fullness of joy.

At your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Let's begin by reciting God's goodness. Oh, God, how kind you are that you would personally make

yourself available to us, to anyone who seeks you, anyone who reaches out to you.

But even more than that, God, thank you that you are the one who reveals yourself to us,

that you make known to us the path to you, that that one way is Jesus. Thank you that you don't play, hide, and seek

with us. You don't, you don't make yourself difficult to find, but rather you reveal yourself

in your word, you reveal your character in the life and love of Jesus. Thank you that you reveal to us the past toward true life.

That you welcome us into your presence.

Not just on our good days or on the days when we read our Bible and prayed, but on any day, any day, any hour, any moment

that we seek you and that we come to you, thank you that you receive us with gladness and with

open arms because of Jesus. God, we praise you. We agree with your word that there is fullness of joy in your

presence, that you are the one who holds all pleasure and everything that is good and beautiful

in this world comes from you. So take a moment now to praise God for who he is and for the ways that he

has revealed his own presence. He has welcomed you to experience the fullness of joy with

him. Let's continue now by expressing our neediness.

Oh God, we acknowledge that our own path seems wise in our own eyes.
