Monday, December 9th, 2024. And we begin with a controversial color about to fade from

fruit by the foot, peeps, nerds, and dozens of other snacks, cereals and candies in the

U.S. According to NBC News, the Food and Drug Administration is finally expected to pull the plug

on red dye number three, which is made from petroleum and give some of our favorite foods

its bright cherry hue. The change could happen in the next few weeks.

Europe banned it 30 years ago because of reported links to disease and animals and behavioral

issues in kids. It's also banned in Japan, China, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Some states in the U.S. have also passed laws to get it out of the food supply, but if the FDA follows suit, it would be removed nationwide.

TikTok is also running out of time. On Friday, an appeals court in Washington, D.C., ruled that Congress does have the power to boot the app over national security concerns.

Opponents of the ban are likely to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court,

but the justices are not obligated to take it.

Barring any more legal actions or a sale of the company,

TikTok could go dark on January 19th one day before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
