Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Friday, December 4th, 2020.

And we begin with that little Rockefeller Center Owl getting some serious Christmas competition from down under.

The McCormick family near Adelaide in Southern Australia came home Wednesday to find their just

decorated tree a bit of a mess with balls on the floor and branches askew. It didn't take long for their

dog to find the culprit, a young and very confused koala tucked inside and tangled in the lights.

Even in Australia, that's unusual.

So much so, an operator at the 24-hour koala hotline,

which is apparently a necessary service in that part of the world,

thought the call was a prank. It was not.

Unlike the owl, though, this little marsupial didn't hitchhike.

She wandered in through an open door and made herself at home clearly not realizing the tree was a fake.

Either way, it's the feel-good story we all need right now.

As posted on Twitter, this koala has single-handedly saved 2020.

On day one in office, Joe Biden says he'll ask for 100, 100 days of mask wearing from every American.

That he told CNN yesterday will go a long way toward ending the pandemic.

He also announced that he's asked Dr. Anthony Fauchy to stay on as his chief medical advisor.

Meanwhile, three of Mr Biden's predecessors are hoping to set an example.

Possibly with cameras rolling, former President Bush, Clinton, and

Obama will roll up their sleeves, maybe even together, to help convince a doubting public that the

soon-to-be authorized vaccines are safe.

In the U.S. the official okay for distribution should come next week, but there's already

a supply chain snag.
