Good morning and welcome the kid news. I'm Tori. Today is Monday, December 3rd, 2018 and we begin with a week of tributes and high honors for the 41st President of the United States.

George H.W. Bush died Friday night at his home in Houston at the age of 94.

This afternoon at 5 p.m. Eastern, members of Congress will hold an arrival ceremony as Mr Bush returns to

Washington DC to lie in state in the capital rotunda. The public can file

past and pay respects around the clock starting this evening.

President Trump has declared Wednesday a national day of morning,

a rare honor reserved for a select few.

Flags will be lowered and the federal government and stock market will be closed.

Two first-class military tributes are also in the works.

Dignitaries from all over the world will fly in for a service at the National

Cathedral on Wednesday, and final respects will be paid on

Thursday when the former Commander-in-Chief is laid to rest next to his wife Barbara on the

grounds of his presidential library in College Station, Texas.

Mr. Bush was our president from 1989 to 1993,

but his resume was pretty impressive long before that.

He was a World War II hero who started his military service by becoming at 18 years old, the US Navy's youngest ever fighter pilot.

He flew 58 combat missions and was awarded three air medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

After the war in college he jumped into politics.

He served in the House of Representatives before becoming the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Director of the CIA, and later

Vice President for Ronald Reagan.

For Mr Bush, who many remember is being as kind as the day is long, his greatest legacy was his family. He had six children. Son George Bush
