podcast I am Elizabeth Benton thanks so much for joining me today we are talking about

fear of failure.

I have a handful of clients. In fact, we just started last week a new cohort for Strong Foundations

and one of the comments that somebody shared with me

was that in past Strong Foundations cohorts their

fear of failure kept them on the sidelines and so this person reached out to

basically say like,

hey, you know, I still have this fear of failure

and I don't want it to be the same story.

I don't want to not take action because I have this fear of failure and one of the things that I

said right off the bat was you don't have to wait for the fear to subside, you can move forward with that feeling.

So often, you hear me talk about this a lot, we convince ourselves that our feelings

are actual barriers, but they're not.

You know, a lot of times people say, I've wanted to join a gym for a long time, but I just

have this fear of like it being uncomfortable, of not knowing what to do, of sticking out like a sore thumb,

like basically I'm just scared and so I don't do it.

But you can take that fear and go do that thing.

In fact, one of my challenges to myself is to do things just because I feel uncomfortable.

Right? And it's not to say don't honor your gut instinct, but we know when it's our ego or when

it's fear of the unknown versus danger, right?

And we'll talk a little bit more about that distinction
