So even though Paul was desperately lonely as he faced down his final days,

he didn't let his own preferences get in the way of his mission of spreading the gospel

and strengthening the churches where he had labor.

The Word of the Lord Endures Forever is a daily verse-by-verse Bible study with the church,

past and present. Pastor Weeden is leading us in a study of the book of 2 Timothy.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit,

Greetings, people, loved by God. So, in our last study, we heard Paul lay a solemn charge on Timothy,

a charge he gave him in the presence of God and of the Lord Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead,

and by his kingdom and his glorious appearing. Timothy is to preach the word. That we just

heard could make you wise to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. To preach it nonstop,

in season, out of season all the time. He's to reprove and rebuke and exhort or comfort

and to do so with complete patience and thorough instruction. The apostle well knows what is

ahead. The time is coming when folks will refuse to listen to sound teaching. They'll discard

anything that doesn't confirm them in their prejudice
