Twenty years and two days ago, Animal Kingdom opened to much fanfare.

And on this date in 1998, the first complaints were made about its shortcomings and shameless

selling out of the two-day-old original vision of the park.

Joe Roddy's earring may have been but a simple diamond stud at the time, but brave first

visitors fired up their modems and posted to AOL message boards to complain about the

airbud meet and greet with a ferocity that set the standard for the 20 years that followed. To observe further
