In this episode, I want to talk to you about ideas for your 2021, 2021 preaching plan.

Yes, 20201 is almost here.

I know for most of us, we'll be glad when 2020 is over,

but the preacher's primary work in 2020 will continue into the new year God willing,

and that is the preparation to preach and the proclamation of God's word.

And I want to encourage you, if you have not already, to begin planning your preaching for

this coming year of ministry. This will be different than any other process with all of the

upheaval and uncertainties and new realities that we will carry into the new year. This will be

different than any other year of planning. However, that is no reason not to plan.

It is all the more reason to plan your preaching. Contrary to popular belief, pastors are busy.

I know that there are many people that think the pastors don't do anything until

Sunday mornings and then some instances think that we don't do much then. But the truth of the matter

is pastors are busy. And in fact, even though for many pastors, things have been shut down during the

coronavirus period, many pastors would tell you that

they've been even more busy during these months even though they have not been in what is

their typical or normal ministry routines pastors are busy and then lay aside that the fact that sermon preparation

is hard work. If you take it seriously, it is hard work. If you give it your best, it is hard

work. If you want to practice excellence in the pulpit as you proclaim the word of God and the

testimony of Jesus Christ, sermon preparation is hard work.

I'm at a stage in my life where I refuse to apologize for that reality.
