| 0:00.0 | Everyone welcome to the Council of Trent. |
| 0:01.6 | Today, my guest is Marco Arroyo. |
| 0:03.4 | He is a minister with the Church of Christ. |
| 0:05.9 | So we actually have a lot in common, |
| 0:08.2 | theologically, and also hobby-wise. |
| 0:11.0 | We're gonna get into that later today. |
| 0:12.5 | So Marco came to my church recently, |
| 0:15.5 | the parish that I attend and visited and got to come around |
| 0:19.4 | and we talked a bit about Catholicism. So today I just wanted to chat with you about liturgy, Catholicism, your thoughts on that, especially just liturgical elements, architectural aesthetic elements. And then of course we've got to talk about our jihitsu role. Yeah, let's hurry up to that last one. Oh, totally. I love whatever. I'll go to events. |
| 0:38.3 | It's always so funny, like people will be there and I'll be meeting and like talking to people and maybe like signing a book. And then someone will come up to me and say, you know, I'm a purple belt in jiu-jitsu. And then I'll just talk to them for like 10 minutes. Yeah. that line starts forming because I'm like, yeah, let's talk about it. |
| 0:52.8 | And so, well, let's get a little bit of background. |
| 0:54.8 | Why don't you tell our get a little bit of background. |
| 0:54.9 | Why don't you tell our listeners a little bit more just about yourself and kind of, you know, what you do? |
| 0:59.7 | Well, I have a YouTube channel called in Between Sundays. |
| 1:03.1 | And I really, I started off doing like devotional stuff and then it kind of changed into apologetic stuff because of people always asking me |
| 1:11.9 | questions and it's a lot easier to go like copy and paste you probably have this experience too |
| 1:16.6 | oh totally people asking you questions you go well i got a video on that go ahead and watch that |
| 1:20.2 | maybe we'll talk about it after or something you know what gets even better is when you get to the |
| 1:24.5 | point you've written a book on it you go like i have a question about x and I'll just be like, why we're Catholic? Well, I'll just send them a PDF of the book. And it's been crazy actually. I've had people who were Protestant. I have people who are atheists who emailed me saying, you know, hey, I have a question about the existence of God and I really liked your debates and I just had a question. I said, okay, here's my book, Why We're Catholic. And then they email me a year later, they're an atheist. And a year later, they're getting baptized and they're coming into the church. Yeah. And all I had to do is just send them a book, basically. Well, you know, a couple of years ago before we did our first podcast, you sent me that PDF copy. I ended up getting the audio book because I can listen to it better |
| 2:04.3 | like on like jogs or something like that. Yeah. And so when I think about that book, I think about myself jogging at the same time. |
| 2:10.6 | But I really appreciated that. I do that all the time. So sometimes in my studies, you know, I'll read books, I've listened to audio books, or I'll listen to |
| 2:19.3 | debates that people have so I can study, like I listen to a previous debate. |
