In this episode, I want to talk to you about preaching as leadership.

There may be those listening to this podcast who will, as a lay preacher, only have occasional

preaching opportunities as you do something else vocationally

and as you have limited opportunities to exercise your gifts.

In this episode, I want to talk to those who have regular preaching responsibilities and

tied to that regular responsibility to preach or teach the word is the leadership of those

entrusted to your care.

That's not to say that a quote-un unquote late preacher won't find anything beneficial here.

I encourage you to take seriously what we'll share in this episode and store it up in the bank

for whatever God has in the days ahead for your life and ministry.

Basically, I want to talk to pastors, and I want to talk to potential pastors, and I want to talk to

those whose preaching duties are a part of your spiritual leadership assignment.

I would first and foremost say that preaching is the primary task of the pastor-teacher,

of the spiritual leader, of the shepherd of the church.

And to be faithful to the calling to preach the word, you need to live as a preacher,

labor as a preacher, and lead as a preacher.

You first need to live as a preacher.

First Timothy 416 bids us to guard our life and our

doctrine second timothy chapter four verse five bids us to be sober minded and do the work of an

evangelist and endure suffering and fulfill our ministries.
