Hey everybody and welcome back to I Just Want to talk about the Bible.

0:09.3

If this is your first time joining us today, then let me just welcome you and say that I am so glad that you're here.

0:14.9

My name is Christian Keeter and I live in the southeast of the United States of America with my amazing, beautiful, godly

wife Lacey and our two wonderful daughters, Felicity and Serenity.

0:26.3

All right, guys, well, let me just go ahead and say right here at the outset that this episode

0:30.8

is going to be directly linked to the one immediately preceding it.

0:35.2

So it'll be connected to episode 116, which was titled How to Learn for

0:41.7

Yourself, What God is Really Like.

0:44.3

And if you go back and look at that, you might notice that it's part 12 in a series,

0:48.2

and it is, of course, relevant to the things that lead up to it in that series.

0:52.0

However, if you have not heard that series, have not heard that episode, I just want to say you can just hop right in at part 12 of that

0:58.7

series and just listen to that one, even if you haven't listened to the rest. And the reason why

I'm saying this is because if you haven't listened to that episode yet, I would encourage

1:07.7

you to listen to it in conjunction with this one. Because as I said,, this is going to be a direct continuation, and hopefully it won't just be reiteration, but it'll be a deepening. It'll be a conversation during which we look at a similar thing, but perhaps from a little bit of a different angle. So I just wanted to say that right at the outset. For those of you who have listened to the

1:28.0

previous one as we're talking through this, there's going to be parts where you're like,

1:31.6

that sounds kind of familiar. So we're going to, like I said, continue on with that. So without any

1:37.2

further ado or introduction, let's just get right into the scriptures and look at a pretty popular

1:43.3

passage of scripture, but maybe from a different perspective than usual.

1:49.7

So John chapter 3, let's just begin with verse 1.

1:53.2

It says, now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

2:00.0

So Nicodemus, the account that we're going to look at here in John 3 is a relatively well-known account. We get the verbiage of being born again from this passage, right, where Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night and they have this conversation, this back and forth, where Jesus says things to Nicodemus that Nicodemus does not understand. And we'll get to that in a minute.

2:18.2

But before we do, I just want to pause because it says right here in verse one,
