If you're listening here in the United States, If you're listening here in the United States, maybe you're

listening for the first time, maybe you're usually working at this time or something. So hello and I'm

glad that you're here with, or maybe you're traveling, probably a lot of people on the road.

And so welcome.

Catholic faith. And then we also do this radio show where occasionally we do other things like

talk about movies, which is what we're going to do today because in the US Memorial Day is really kind of the beginning of summer.

There's you know as astronomical or cosmic or I don't know what the modifier is summer and then there's like you know summer the way you

have had it since you were a kid and that always traditionally in the US was

Memorial Day to Labor Day it It ended on Labor Day with what used to be a very

important American tradition called the Jerry Lewis Telethon, but I don't think we have that anymore.

I don't know if we have that anymore. But so Memorial Day is a day where we remember, basically, we remember those who have given their lives in the service of this country.

And in many ways, certainly over the last century

in the service of this country's service to world peace.

And you know, you think of the US Navy patrol in the seas or the all

the many goods that the US military people have. But most particularly in defense of this country

and out of love for others.

Thomas Aquinas famously puts soldiering

under the virtue of love because it has to do with love of others,
