Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, January 31st, 2023. Today is also the Fis of St. John Bosco.

Now, before we talk about him, though, let's just remember today is the last day of January.

I hope you are wrapping up all of your challenges from the Bia St. Kids Club, including the memorization of a couple of verses from the book of Deuteronomy.

So let's say those verses together for the last time and really just believe that these are words from God that help us more fully understand the true foundation of our belief in God.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Here, O Israel, the Lord is your God. The Lord is one, and you shall love the Lord your God

with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am

commanding you today, shall be on your heart, and you shall repeat them diligently to your sons, and speak of them

when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up,

amen. So as I mentioned, we are talking about some super awesome saints this week that remind us

of our own call to be saints, and how God's call to each of us

is so unique, so beautiful, and just so specific to who we are. So yesterday we talked about

our great intercessor, St. Joseph. Today we are talking about St. John Bosco. Now, St. John Bosco lived in France in the 1800s.

His family was very poor. In fact, they were peasant farmers. And when he was only two years old,

his father died. Now, this put his family in a really tough position. He really could not go to school and instead he was forced to work.

And yet he had a saintly mother who really gave him and helped him develop a true relationship

and devotion with Jesus. Now from a young age, St. John Bosco really embraced a specific calling that God gave him.

When he was young, he had a dream that there was all of these poor boys that were dirty and

no one seemed to care for them. And there was a beautiful woman there beckoning him to come and care for them.

And he realized that he was called to care for these lost boys.

Now, during the time when St. John Bosco lived, it was the Industrial Revolution.
