| 1:14.4 | was probably when it came into the news like a few months ago and there was kind of |
| 1:19.7 | the brewings of a conflict going on and there have been some human rights abuses in various cities and towns all over the region. |
| 1:26.0 | I was out in T-Gray for what, week and a half, maybe a bit longer than that, |
| 1:31.0 | and over the course of that time even, so that's a couple of weeks ago, |
| 1:37.0 | or even less than that, it's changed a bit, the conflict. |
| 1:41.0 | So when I was there, I flew into Meckley, which is the kind of regional capital, |
| 1:46.4 | and then went about sort of organizing a trip up through, there's only a few sort of paved roads in the region and going towards |
| 1:54.0 | Axum and Shiller which is two of the biggest cities affected by the violence. |
| 2:00.3 | Now by the time I got there the TDF the Tigray Defence Forces which is the kind of guerrilla fighting |
| 2:07.5 | force of the TPLF which sort of ran the region for a long long. They had been pushed out of the major cities pretty early on by Eritrean and Ethiopian troops. |
| 2:18.0 | And they were kind of fighting pitched battles out on these huge plains surrounded by canyons. |
