Colombia it looks like at one point there was even like what people are

calling basically police death squads like kind of driving around and I think in some instances

even using live rounds on unarmed protesters I want to go into all of that

But first of all maybe let's go back a bit and just kind of talk about why these new protests died this

recent round of tax reform bill protests what's that all about?

So let's give you some context, let's back up to 2019,

because the organizers of this protest movement,

they call it the national strike.

The first national strike was in 2019,

and it was a big turnout that had, you know,

struggled with police and some violence and injuries that obviously got interrupted in

2020 by the pandemic and when they announced the second national strike

April 28th of this year.
