So we mayn't give the gift of baptism where the teaching will not follow. That would be like giving birth to a child and never nursing it. Its life would soon end.

The Word of the Lord Endures Forever is a daily verse-by-verse Bible study with the church,

Greetings, people, loved by God.

Last time we wrapped up the first chapter of First Peter.

He began with a bit of warning. If we're praying together the Our Father now, well, then we need

to remember that the one we're calling on is the one who judges impartially according to each one's

conduct. And so we should conduct ourselves with fear throughout the time

of our exile. That is, the fear of presuming upon grace and falling into impenitence.

We should remember what it actually cost to redeem us. Something far more precious than perishable

gold and silver, it took the precious blood of Christ,
