Liberal arts, the very purpose of liberal arts colleges,

all throughout the country and the world indeed,

is about the formation of the human, that's humanities. I get asked frequently, how do I prepare my kids for college?

University life, is it a right of passage, or merely a means to a great career?

Or could there be more to it?

Can college grow our young adults minds and hearts

in addition to their thinking and practical skills?

I wanted to address the to their thinking and practical skills.

I wanted to address these very concerns today

with someone I know who can answer these questions

far more effectively than I can. I've invited my dear friend and

colleague from Xavier University to today's episode. He also happens to have been one of my professors from when I was a graduate student.

Let me introduce you then to my dear friend, Dr. Adam Clark.

He's a professor and theologian at Xavier here in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Adam is committed to the idea that theological education in the 21st century must equip and inspire students

to live into the ignation dictum of going forth to set the world on fire.

During his tenure at Xavier, Dr. Clark has received several distinctions

and many more awards in teaching.

of educating students in the service of faith

and the promotion of justice.
