Good day and thanks for listening to the podcast. In this episode, I want to talk to you about

preaching resources on the Ten Commandments. Now let me admit up front, this is a follow-up from

last episode, episode 112, when I talked about preaching resources

from the Psalms. I've recently wrapped up a summer psalm series where I worked through

selected Psalms on the Lord's Day, and I just shared some of the resources that I have found helpful as I was

doing my sermon preparation on the Psalms and doing that podcast gave me the brilliant or

non-briient idea to follow it up with this episode on preaching resources for the Ten Commandments.

I have been doing Psalms on Sundays, and I have been working through this summer,

the Ten Commandments during our midweek Bible study.

And I don't know how the congregation or those who view it online have been receiving it,

but I've had a ball studying the Ten Commandments and teaching through the Ten Commandments.

Of all of the things to preach, H.B., why the Ten Commandments?

Well, by way of introduction, let me just talk a little bit about that.

The Ten Commandments, I think, are important to preach for several reasons.

Number one, the Ten Commandments are helpful to preach because they affirm biblical authority, period.

They affirm biblical authority.

We live in a culture of opinion and polls and the like, and these commandments address major issues that are as relevant today as when the

Lord wrote these tablets of stone with the commandments on them with his finger and gave them to Moses to give to

Israel.

But this gives us a different perspective to address them from the way our people will hear them.
