Well, hard, H-A-R-D, this is my head. So you can hear that my head is very hard

but another meaning of hard is difficult

so in this case difficult

difficult to beat

beat as a verb

well right now I will beat my brother

I'm hitting him Right now, I will beat my brother.

I'm hitting him.

Yes, but that's not the definition in this expression. In this expression, beat, B-E-A-T is the same as defeat, D-E-F-E-A-T.

So hard to beat means difficult to defeat. There you go. Today's expression is

hard to beat. That means today's expression is really good. It's very difficult to have a better expression than what we are learning today.
