Welcome to the perfume room. My scent of the day today is Vanilla Adigia from Electomis,

and this is a scent that the brand generously gifted me in PR, along with a few other travel

sizes.

However, this one quickly rose to the top, so I want to talk about it.

Now this fragrance is a perfect witchy October vanilla.

It's got all the qualities of a sort of classic vanilla scent with the most interesting,

aromatic, spicy, mossy twist. Imagine a fragrance like Vinie from Otremer,

a sort of characteristic gourmand but not sweet kind of vanilla bean vanilla.

And I'm using this scent specifically as a reference

because I know that it is a popular reference point for so many of you.

So imagine this kind of vanilla as a base.

But then what makes vanilla

adagia so special is who surrounds it. And to me, its most prominent peers are cumin,

coriander, incense, and patchouli. The incense comes out most on blotter to my nose and a little less

on skin, but it's like this smoky, witchy, incendi-vanilla

that feels like you've wandered into the creakest, coziest occult shop where incense and

candles burn simultaneously. But then on skin, there is a kuman note that is just stunning.

My issue with kumin and fragrance is that it often feels gratuitous, like a

perfumer added it just to add a hook or overdosed it specifically for a challenge or

to skank it up. Somehow the cumin in here is perfectly balanced and it's

perfectly balanced with specifically coriander and in this fragrance they both
