Summary

About two years ago, I really got hit hard with the idea of aging. At the age of 46, I was very aware of the public opinion on aging and since I was so in tune with my health and fitness, I thought I was untouchable.

Then I ruptured a disk in my lower back and it all hit me! Some of you may be able to relate with the idea of "when did I start looking like my mom?" And, of course the growing list of care we need to do for ourselves.

When I started to truly question this, I also asked myself is health and nutrition really THE answer for people? I soon realized it's so much more. In this episode, I get interviewed by my dear friend Allyson Byrd and we talk about what Aging In Reverse REALLY means. Why I started this community, and how I've leveled up, walked through the process, and how I'm helping others do the same.

About two years ago, I really got hit hard with the idea of aging. I was, I'm 48 now, I was 46 at the time,

0:42.0

and I was very aware of the mainstream thoughts on aging. And I, you know, I was so into my

nutrition and my fitness and my, what I thought I knew that I really didn't think it would

0:53.1

impact me. That's just my

0:54.7

arrogant thoughts around it. And it started to hit me head on a lot of things. I had ruptured a

1:01.4

disc in my lower back. I was injured. And it was something that came out of what I thought was

1:07.8

nowhere. I started to have some changes in the way that I looked,

1:12.1

um, as we all do when we age, but I, it just kind of hit me out of nowhere. And some of you

1:17.7

listening can relate to that when you look in the mirror and all of a sudden you see something

1:20.7

staring back at you that you're like, when did I start looking like my mom? But I remember

1:26.6

that hitting me. And I also remember the list of

1:28.7

maintenance starting to just creep up like, okay, the hair appointments are getting longer and

1:34.3

the things to take care of myself. That list is growing. And then I put that on top of just this

1:40.6

never-ending to-do list for business for life and the stress that goes with that.

1:47.3

And also the number, knowing, okay, I'm going to be in my later 40s here.

I'm approaching midlife.
