Hi guys, welcome back to Unbreakable Latina. This is your host Melina. I hope you're having an amazing day, whatever day you're listening to this on. I wanted to come on here and apologize for last week's episode that it just ended out of nowhere. A lot of you guys messaged me asking me, hey, like, is my Spotify broken? Is my Apple podcast broken or my phone? But the only thing

broken here is me, Amiggis. I was the broken one. I was in Napa Valley for Laonda Festival.

If you were there and I said hi to you, shout out to you, Amigies. I met a couple of you. It was so sweet

for you guys to take pictures with me and just be so kind and so nice. It was nice to be there.

I had so much fun. I saw so many artists. I'll talk about it more in the next episode, just a little

recap of what happened. But the reason that I split this episode into is because my mental

health was not in the right place.

The day before I recorded this episode, I received a phone call and my mom's best friend lost her son,

which I grew up with, and it really impacted me a lot lot and we went and we were there and we were

there for their final goodbyes and when death hits near your family near your friends it just

makes you reevaluate life and you know the little things don't matter and and we'll have to chatle ganas, and just be grateful for every day that you get to wake up again and be there for your friends where they need you.

It was truly, really a sad loss. We still haven't gone to the services, you know, how long it takes for that.

And, you know, when you lose someone that's older and sick, you expect it. But when you lose someone

that's not sick and you don't expect it and someone that's my age, it really hits home. And I was not in the right mental space to

record this episode, but at the same time, I didn't want to stay home after the night that we

had. I was just home crying. If you see the YouTube video, you see that

my eyes are like swollen. So I had already agreed with Rubin to do this episode. And, um,

you know what? Um, life as sad as it sounds, it keeps going and is, it's something that you learn to live with i i haven't lost anyone

like in my immediate family but i can't imagine how hard that is and you just think of like oh my

god like one day i'm going to have to go through this or my family members are going to have to go through this, and you just start spiraling.
