Summary

About 6 months after the twins were born I began working with a functional medicine doctor to reduce systemic inflammation in my body and get my C-reactive protein (CRP) to an "optimal" level.

In today's episode, we're talking about how systemic inflammation can present, what CRP is, what is considered an "optimal" level and how I'm getting there.

At 6 months postpartum, my CRP was about 10 mg/L and 4 months later it's down to 3.6 mg/L. My goal is to get it < 1 mg/L in the next 3-4 months.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I know a lot of you are going to be thrilled to

1:00.1

hear that this is a what we call sciencey episode. I hear all the time, I love your sciencey

1:07.4

episodes. That was really how this podcast was born. I am a lover of science, a lover

1:17.3

of all things, metabolism and hormones and endocrinology and everything in between. I just

1:24.4

really love diving into how the body works. Of course, when it comes to creating change,

1:31.6

how the mind works tends to be a much bigger factor. And so that's why we talk about that

1:36.8

a lot more here. After years of focusing on the science, it was just super clear that

1:42.8

while people love to learn, changing is really more about your mind. And that's why the

1:49.3

podcast content reflects that breakdown. Today, we're going to be talking about C-reactive

1:56.3

protein. We're going to be talking about inflammation and we're going to be talking about my

2:00.0

experience over the last several months with a functional medicine doctor. And to kind

2:04.9

of bring everybody up to speed, I posted about this in the Primal Potential Facebook
