Hey, it's good to be back with you, Sy.

So we need this actually. A lot of books are like, you know the author needed another book out, but this one we need this.

So what got you going and how did you end up writing this, a Catholic guide to understanding gender?

Yeah, well, I mean, starting 25 years ago back when I got started with Catholic answers right out of college,

doing a lot of chats that he talks and things were progressing, there were cultural battles going on, but just in the last five years,

things just took this hockey stick acceleration of, wow, you know, in terms of this issue, so many others,

but going to so many schools, like just Catholic grade schools and then the,

you know, the principal, like, yeah, we've got seven kids in the lower school that identify as trans and, you know,

do that identify as non-binary and it's like, these are the Catholic schools.

And then the parents coming up to be in the parish, like, my daughter wants to go on puberty blockers and cross sex hormones

and get a top surgery and she's only 15 and my nephew is now my niece and it just seems like everybody has a touch point

in one place or another of their lives and, you know, and there are Catholics wrestling with gender dysphoria that

come up to me and like, okay, well, what's God's plan for my life? And I realized that we're really behind the game in terms of

formulating a pastoral response to all of this. I mean, it's one thing to have an apologetic answer, okay,
