In this episode, I have the privilege of interviewing my friend and brother Eric Redman,

who is the author or the general editor of the new and important book published by Moody,

simply entitled Say It. It is about the celebration of expository preaching in the African American tradition. And during this conversation,

we'll talk specifically about the book and talk about the contribution of black preaching

to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

So for those who are listening and may not know who you are, tell us a little bit about yourself.

So I'm currently teaching at Moody Bible Institute.

I've been there for five and a half years as a professor in the Bible department. Prior to that,

I taught about 17 years at another school in biblical studies. I love to teach hermeneutics,

probably more than anything else. I've also taught preaching and pastoral studies.

I've previously been a senior pastor of two different churches.

One was a church plant, but I found my home more in the classroom for the last several years than as a senior pastor.

I'm also currently on staff as a pastor at Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, Illinois,

where I am the pastor of preaching and teaching and care.

And so my primary responsibility is to preach in the absence of the pastor and to do teaching
