And today, we're going to be talking about someone very special, and that's filmmaker, artist, Matt Farley, and friends.

Have you never heard of Matt Farley?

Well, we brought a special guest just to help us out with that.

Koppelowski. Who are you, Peter? Why are you on this? I'm a Toronto film curator. I work for the

Toronto International Film Festival. I also do short film programming at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.

And I'm one of the biggest Matt Farley fans that I know.

So you're the one that kind of introduced us to Matt Farley twice, I would say.

Yeah, I discovered Matt Farley myself as a film festival programmer because he submitted

his film Freaky Farley to Toronto After Dark I think 10 years ago at this point.

And to my great shame, though I

liked the movie and wrote them a very complimentary letter, I didn't really follow up with Matt

and to see, and Charlie, the director, to see what his deal was until only about two years ago

in which I went down the rabbit hole and discovered not only is Matt Farley and his friend,

Charlie Roxburgh

and he's made multiple movies. He's a prolific singer-songwriter having recorded 19,000 songs

that are available to listen on Spotify, in which he earns a passive income from those songs

of about 25 grand a year. I think we should pause on this moment. Yeah. Exactly how does his songwriting career work?

We should talk about right off the bat before we're very excited to talk about this filmmaker, which is what does he do and why does it interest us so specifically?

Because Matt Farley is a filmmaker who makes films with his friends in his hometown.

And on the surface, you could call them essentially kind of horror parodies to use a very broad term.
