And today, things are going to get a little bit musical.

Heaven. I'm in heaven.

Actually, that wasn't even in any of Vince and Monelli's musicals.

I'm glad I pointed to you because I didn't even know what song I would sing.

Because we're talking about Vincent Manelli.

Vincent.

Every time I heard somebody refer to him, it was Vincent Manelli.

And he's the guy who made an American in Paris.

He made The Bad and the Beautiful, Meet Me in St. Louis.

He's one of the top guys when people talk about classic musicals along with Stanley Donnan, the guy that directed singing in the rain.

And was he a filmmaker that you had any familiarity with in the sense of like...

I had some familiarity with them because I'd probably seen half dozen movies over the years, but in no way am I an

expert on him. In no way had I done much serious reading about him. So this is another one of those

weeks gang where I'm a little bit of a fraud. Well, listen, we can't do a podcast every week and be

an expert on every subject.

So this is more of a discovery.

I watched four of his movies this week, and I've never seen a bunch of Vincent

Monelli movies back to back like this.

And I feel, as it always does, it gave me a new appreciation for him as a filmmaker.

He's a filmmaker that people like Cade Cinema would always hold up as like a pinnacle
