Welcome back after a very long hiatus apparently that way you would

just realize has been three weeks. It was supposed to be one week to Curious Me podcast. I am,

I forget, I'm already bad at this. We don't even have to like do the intro anymore. I'm Emily.

That's Mindy laughing at me. We have been gone a long time friend. It has been a while It has been a while. Because we usually record early, we've been parted for quite some time. We have. And you haven't been here in about what? A lot happens on the Purcellar property when you're gone for three weeks. I know. I feel like we have some serious catching up to do. So you went to Mexico. Well, we're just going to a family trip or family trip. Well, yeah, family trip. And then Andy and I decided not to go. We'd stay here. You guys went. Was it a blast? It was good. It was good. It was, you know, when you like go someplace new and you see pictures and you start to formulate in your head, like what the place is going to be like and like what the music is going to be like and all the things. I try to like do that before I go. I don't know why. You're mentally preparing yourself for fun. I've been like you have to get worked up for those things. And then you get there and it's either like totally different than what the pictures look like. you're like, wait. It exceeds it or it's like, wait, they definitely Photoshop those photos. Yeah, you're like, wait a minute. This place was like exactly like how the pictures look. You never get that. No. Usually it's like the pictures they show like the hotels and stuff are like taking when it was very first renovated. Yeah. And they're newly renovated classifies as 20 years ago type of thing.

And then it's like, the 90s is not newly. Yeah, exactly. No. The rooms are actually, I think, even better in person than in the pictures, which I was really surprised. I know we haven't got to talk about it. Yeah. So it's good. I was just really happy to get some sun and like be outside. and yeah they uh it wasn't super crowded either like so that was nice it wasn't like you weren't

been doing construction here that never ends there's a lot of construction going on here.

Mm-hmm. Doing, finishing the Andy's garage over there. I've been away from here for like three weeks and there's just like a whole new structure on their property. It's wild. I love it. And she's like, go look for it. And I'm like looking in the wrong direction completely. And then I look over with like, oh, holy crap, now I see it.

Yeah, it's just been a lot of bodies are here every day. That's my sister said, you know, because her and Sydney, they work here in the studio. Yeah. And she was like, they're literally like 30 people here every day. I was like, yeah, that's like at a minimum, I feel like,

because there's so many. So, hey, I'm, I, this is so funny, but are so like minor, but it's like the silver or line at the, or whatever, lie at the end of the tunnel of construction is like, oh my gosh, soon I'll be able to take the dogs out of my robe again. Like in the morning, because right now there's always so many people here walking around everywhere doing stuff.

And I'm like, I want to run away because I'm like, get away from me. But it'll be good. It's almost done. Well, in a year where a lot of businesses, you know, had to suffer.

And that's even DIY stuff because now they have the time. They can do it themselves and get stuff done. and then like you're trying to get contract oh come here and fix this because you know i was

actually i did look into that a lot of it was because people they were home more and it was becoming more of an annoyance to them of things that were broken because they had to face them more yeah you weren't just there for like four hours a day a week. And I also read that it was because people were taking advantage of the time because when they work in an office, they have to take off time to have these contractors come or to come do quotes and things like that. And they were cutting into their personal time off by doing that. So now they were home, they were taking advantage of that. Makes so much sense. Or even to have something like delivered and installed. Exactly. Oh, I got to like take off the half a day and be there and then
