Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Monday, November 19, 2018, and we begin with

pomp and circumstance ushering in the official start at the holiday season.

This afternoon, the first family's Christmas tree will arrive by horse and carriage to the White House.

It's a 19 and a half foot Frazier fur that was almost

abandoned by its North Carolina grower. Larry Smith says the tree wasn't doing

as well as some others on his farm and he was sure White House officials would not pick it, but they did.

And the tree smith says, went from Herbie the Love Bug to a Bentley, like a Cinderella story.

The fur will be displayed in the blue room of the White House.

It was fun while it lasted.

Yesterday the football world was a buzz with speculation that a political big wig might take her smarts to the NFL but almost as quickly as the rumors got started

former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice shot them down. She is not being considered for head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Rice who served under President Bush from 2005 to 2009 is a lifelong Browns fan and has a solid football resume. Her name is frequently in the mix for the

next NFL commissioner and she was on the first committee that brought playoffs to

college football. But that's as far as it goes for now. Rice says the job needs to go to someone with experience.
