2023. And we begin with a fiery reason to look to the skies. This weekend the annual Leonid meteor shower is

scheduled to peak. The shower is visible from most places in the world and

this year the viewing conditions will be especially good because there will be very little moonlight to compete with the sky show.

Scientists predict you'll be able to see 10 to 15 meteors per hour just after midnight early Saturday morning.

The Leonid meteor shower occurs when Earth moves through the dust that trails behind a comet

named Temple Tuttle and that debris ends up falling into our atmosphere.

Not to worry though, it all burns up

before it hits the ground.

Dogs are known as man's best friend,

but for one Texas teen, his border collie was quite

literally a lifesaver. The dog awakened his parents early one recent morning,

seemingly wanting to go for a walk, But instead of heading for the backyard,

the dog began clawing at their 17-year-old son's

closed bedroom door.

Turns out the boy was having a stroke.

After complaining of a headache the day before, he'd gone to bed only to wake up the next morning unable to move his arm.

He fell over and that's when Axel the family dog started barking frantically.

A doctor later said a blood vessel had burst

cutting off the blood supply to the boy's brain. Had Axel not been so

insistent the doctor noted the teen could have ended up with lifelong challenges.
