and we begin with NASA's much-type Artemis mission finally headed to the Moon. After several

months and as many delays, the agency's biggest most powerful launch system Thunderd Skyward

earlier this morning from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Commander Munequin and his crew of mannequins

rode atop the massive rocket for about eight minutes after which they're tiny Orion capsule

jettisoned into orbit on its own. They'll now spend the next 26 days lapping the lunar surface

and testing out all the technology that human astronauts will need when they make this same

trip as early as next year. Splashdown is set for December 11th in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego,

California. A milestone for our little blue marble. Sometime yesterday Earth's human population

hit 8 billion, a mind-boggling number that comes just 11 years after we hit 7 billion. The United

Nations credits advances in public health, medicine, and nutrition for helping us all live longer,

but also says growth is slowing and not as many babies are being born. The UN estimates that the

population will reach 9.7 billion by 2050, around 10.4 billion during the 2080s and hold steady

at that level until around 2100. Much of Earth's population was apparently doing exactly the same

thing at exactly the same time yesterday, trying to buy tickets to see Taylor Swift. So many at such

a fevered pitch that ticket masters struggle to keep up and Swifties flood at Twitter with bad blood.

The site denied crashing, but then acknowledged that the singer's new tour caused

historically unprecedented demand and asked fans to be patient. The US leg of Eras begins March 18th
