And we begin with Better Late Than Never, a city official in Chicago says hundreds of overdue library books have been returned in the

last three weeks. That's a 240% increase and there's a simple reason why. The city

decided to eliminate overdue fines at all public libraries.

Many people who owe a fine are afraid to go to the library and these fines lead to

the loss of not just books but also patrons.

Chicago is now the largest city in the US to get rid of these fees but they're certainly

not the only one.

Salt Lake City and Boston public libraries have the same rules in place,

with Boston just making the change last Friday.

This is election day in the US.

It's considered an off-year election
