Today is Wednesday, November 1st, 2023.

And we begin with a new record,

set by an educator in Illinois.

Paul Durriott's now has the longest career

as a social studies teacher in the world.

The 76 year old began teaching the subject

at Woodland Middle School in Gurney on September 1st, 1970.

Mr. Durriott says his interest in history came from his parents,

especially his father, who received a purple heart medal

while serving in World War II.

He admits a lot has changed since he began 53 years ago

at the same school when he wrote on a blackboard with chalk

and students used paper textbooks.

But Mr. Durriott's tells Guinness World Records

he has no plans to retire because he still loves teaching

and imparting knowledge to younger generations.

We've heard about driverless cars.

Now a company has the green light to fly passengers

in pilotless air taxis.

Chinese company E-hang is the first in the world

to receive official approval for this service,
