We want to talk about a topic called Bi-Pod Bounce, which is something that I think the phrases come

up in a podcast or two prior to this but let's address it specifically what is

it how can you perhaps mitigate it?

What effect does it have on your shooting?

And Rubin, you're here to talk with us about that today.

Now, right off the bat, in front of us we have two different rivals with two different kinds of bipods one is the classic Harris style

One is the a little bit more high-end a little bit fancier Atlas style bipod of course there are many others too but that's

what we have in front of us you suggested you challenged us at the beginning room

before we started he said what do we actually think now why don't you tell me what you think it is?

So what I would think Bi-POD bounces

is you would experience, I guess, a shift in your point of impact if you were shooting your rifle and the

bipod was setting on a very like rigid surface like concrete where it's actually there's no give to it and essentially the rifle will bounce.

Yeah, the only time I remember ever I guess witnessing it and I didn't know what was happening but I know that people were saying oh yeah I'm getting bipod bounce was when we were at one of the old vortex extremes and we shot off those concrete pads and people with bipods were actually scooching their bipods up off the pad onto the dirt.

And I guess it kind of makes sense when you think about it because you have this jarring you know thing that happens when the gun

goes off lots of vibrations and the bipod if it's rattling essentially

against this you know hard surface it can kind of come up a little bit but in terms

of the thing that I've always questioned about

bipod bounce is as we've spoken about this with Ian before I was just talking

about the travel of your bullet down the barrel and that happens so quickly.
