Welcome back to the QOD of the day show.

We got a brand new speaker on the show today.

Tom is going to kick off the week with a story about how we overcame a fixed mindset.

You see there's a fixed mindset where you don't believe that you can change, where your

life is just going to stay the same.

And then there's a growth mindset where you know that you can change yourself in order to become the person you want to be,

so you can have the life that you really want.

Two really good books about this I highly recommend.

Number one, mindset by Carol Duwack, great book.

Also, personality isn't permanent by Dr. Benjamin Hardy.

That was probably the best book I read all of last year and I read a lot of books.

In fact, we are going to be reading Dr. Hardy's book in the QOD book club next month.

And so I'll give you more information about that next week.

But Tom is going to talk about his story of overcoming his fixed mindset so he could create a billion dollar company.

Now, the irony of my life is when I went to leave for college, I almost chickened out.

In fact, I did chicken out and the only reason that I ended up going to college was my mom forced me to.

And I was having this moment of crisis.

There was only me and one other kid that was leaving the state for my high school.

Everybody else went to a state school.
