Summary

Once upon a time, a reader turned writer named Brit put an idea out into the universe. She told American Girl that she should write a book in the same vein as the stories she’d loved as a child. Cut to 2022, and Brit Bennett is the author of Meet Claudie, a new historical AG book. In this episode, we discuss Claudie’s meet book, which is set in Harlem in 1922. We consider Bennett’s journey from fan to creator and the stunning world she’s made around Claudie.
