and we're going to be talking about Stephen Spielberg this week.

And specifically, the bad Steven Spielberg, or the bad perceived by the public.

Because even the most successful film director of all time had a couple that just didn't quite,

I'm struggling to think how to finish that sentence.

Didn't quite hit it out of the park.

That actually happened again.

So, Stephen Spielberg, we're not going to go into his history. You know who he is. Probably the most, like, famous director of all time. But why don't we talk a little bit about, like, what's our perception of Steven Spielberg? Are we fans? Do you like him? I'm a huge Steven Spielberg fan. I know it's easy when you're getting into university and you're studying

film, which I never did, to be like, well, Stephen Spielberg is everything that's wrong with

cinema. He ended the new Hollywood, you know, he brought in this blockbuster franchise hellscape

that we're in today. When in reality, all Spielberg was doing was making the movies that he loved

as a kid in a very polished

and more expensive way and what ended up happening is that when something is popular everybody

imitates it and does it very shittily i will confess to having maybe fallen prey to that line of

thinking before that he was the guy who ruined hollywood i mean listen i like spielberg There are certain of his movies that I loved growing up. He's not somebody who I would ever rank as a favorite. Oh, I would definitely rank him as a favorite. Okay, and I think it's just personal. I think his preoccupations are not my preoccupations. There's kind of nothing in his worldview that speaks specifically to me.
