My host, today is Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

And on this Wednesday, the day after Election Day in the United States, an election day in which we have

witnessed a historic comeback for now president-elect Donald Trump, who has been elected

for a second term in office. I thought it would be useful for us to speak for a few moments about

what we can learn. Now, most of

what I want to say relates to personal example. And let me just strike right to that first.

I was ready to record and release what I'm about to say yesterday. But I decided, well, let's

wait and let's see if the election goes the way I am guessing that it might.

Let's see if Trump wins. And then I can deliver this little encouragement to you.

The encouragement is this. Don't ever count yourself out. As a financial planner, one of the things that I have observed and watched

over many years is that when you are in the middle of a mess, you're in the middle of a business

that's falling apart, your finances are in shambles, you're headed for bankruptcy, everything

is going badly.

When you're in the middle of that kind of mess, the emotional weight of your experience can make it feel very difficult to see how you might get out of this.

But someone from an outside perspective can come

along and say, this is totally doable. I don't talk a lot about why I use that idea in my

intro of 10 years or less. I should talk about it more. But the 10 years or less relates to

number of aspects of things that I have observed,

especially related to financial planning.
