substack. In this series and these episodes, we're going to discuss and dig deeper into the topics

that Patrick covers in his substack. But before we get started, Patrick, why don't you just

introduce yourself to the audience. Yeah.

I appreciate it.

Just a little bit of background on myself.

I was raised evangelical Protestant and was in the Protestant church up until about 12 years ago.

And the reason I had started drifting away from evangelicalism specifically

and toward a higher church expression, higher liturgy, it's because I started reading church

history. I started reading the church fathers, digging into just the very fascinating story

of the church. So not just reading commentaries on scripture or their thoughts

on theology, but just their lives and what the church was all about. And through that, and it was a

very long process because, at least for me, change is hard, right? And so I started digging in

probably about 2002, 2003.

Long story short, we became reformed Calvinist at one point.
