Hi this is Steve. The problem with Fight Club is that it's so seductive. At first, you relate to the narrator's frustration with the world he lives in. After all, most of us have felt disconnected and lost and are overly commoditized and often anti-social society.

Maybe you've asked yourself some of the same questions in your own search for meaning.

And of course when Tyler Durden comes along so much of what he says sounds so

right. We have been sold a lie. We are cogs in some corporate machine and maybe the only way to get back to our humanity

is to strip away that lie and lay bare some primal and often bloody kind of truth.

And while Fight Club might be violent, it's also a lot of fun.

There's something so thrilling about tearing down all the rules that at first you don't

even notice when the club begins to transform into something else, something bigger

and more dangerous, something called Project Mayhem.

And yet, for most of us, there is a moment when we realize that something is going horribly wrong.

And as the narrator struggles with his own reality, we are forced to think about where exactly the line is

between the understandable rejection of a toxic culture and acts of violence which can only

be described as terrorism.

In part two of our exploration of Fight Club, John and I wrestle with these difficult topics

while still having a lot of fun discussing a movie which is as thrilling, funny, and challenging today as it was almost 20 years ago.
