A lot of people were already sensing that this round of the war,

of the larger war, was coming to an end when Trump started

talking yesterday on Tuesday about annihilating Iranian civilization. It was such a strangely

incoherent threat and precisely the kind of threat that wouldn't phase a mukal regime.

It seems more like a repositioning

ahead of the ceasefire he knew was coming. In other words, the ceasefire was coming. He was going to announce it in a few hours.

He wanted his threat to seem like the thing, the position, the Iranian capitulation, as he would claim it to be.
