Summary

In the rush of daily life, it's easy to get caught up in the pace and the demands—so much so that we forget the nearness and presence of God.

This guided Scripture meditation invites you to do something radical: slow down, breathe, and enter a tangible time of rest.

Through gentle reflection on Hebrews 12:2, you'll have space to become aware of what's weighing on your heart, release the things that bind you or hold you back, and hand them over to Jesus—the author and perfecter of our faith.

Leave this time strengthened, carrying renewed peace, love, and joy deep in your soul and even in your body.

Perfect for bedtime, a quiet afternoon, or any moment you need to recenter in God's presence. Come as you are. Leave lighter.

Key Scripture:

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." — Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)

What to Expect in This Episode:

  • A slow, soothing introduction to rest in God's presence
  • Extended moments of silence for deep breathing and awareness
  • Gentle prompts to notice tension (mental, emotional, physical) and release it
  • Reflective reading and meditation on Hebrews 12:2
  • Prayerful invitation to give God everything that binds or holds you back
  • Closing blessing of peace, love, and joy over your soul and body

Best enjoyed with:

  • Headphones
  • A quiet space
  • A comfortable seat or lying down
  • An open heart ready to receive

Attentive to the moment.

0:21.4

And we start by being attentive to the breath.

So as you relax your body into the position you've chosen,

0:30.4

begin to engage, become aware, the rise and the fall of the breath.

0:43.0

Slow it down and expand the capacity as you inhale,

0:46.4

widen the belly and the lungs,

and as you exhale, allow them to deflate. Inhale and rise to deflate.

0:59.0

Inhale and rise the belly.

Exhale, deflate.

It's my intention today to give you a tangible time of rest as we head into the holiday season.

1:30.1

It's a wonderful season, but we can also get so caught up in the pace, the demands, that we forget the presence of God with us now.

1:34.5

And that's why we connect to the breath.

1:43.7

Scan your body and pay attention to any tight places.

1:49.8

See if you can direct the breath towards that congestion.

1:54.8

I know whenever I do this, it does work.

1:58.3

I just become aware that I'm holding, I'm clenching,

2:20.5

and I can release as I become aware. This is true for any part of our body or our soul. If we're feeling anxious, we can become aware and we can release. As we give to God the things that bind us or hold us back,

2:27.3

it's a sacrifice and offering of praise,

2:31.2

that we trust him and we need him.
