Hello, this is Paul McKenna, and welcome to the positivity podcast.

My objective is to interview the most interesting people in the world,

and in the next 30 minutes, get insights and even discover how it is that they do what they do,

mindset, and certainly what keeps them positive. My guest today is a writer, stand-up comedian and

TV star. He's been called the King of the One-Liners. He's become one of the most followed and

quoted comedians in the country. I'm talking

today with Gary Delaney. It's got to work and it's got to be stuff that is bulletproof. When I used to

die on my ass at a gig, I drive home going what joke would be good enough to have cut through there,

even if they hated me. But I've had jokes that have taken me 10 to 12 years to get the punchline right. Wow. Some of my best jokes, yeah, yeah.

Sometimes you keep editing a joke and you're beating your head against a wall.

Sometimes it's in there.

You've got to pick that lock.

I will do it to my absolute physical ability, standing on a stage and doing shows.

And, you know, until I drop because I absolutely love it.

That is what it's just the best feeling. I feel like that is what I'm there to do. You can achieve the things in life, in life that you want if you set your mind to it and you

achieve it. A lot of people say they want things and then don't really.
