Summary

In this episode, we break down a major factor in treating SIBO and preventing recurrence: biofilm disruption. You'll learn how to identify the telltale signs of biofilms, the steps to our proven treatment protocol, and discover the dietary and supplement strategies that support lasting gut recovery. Our approach is backed by our recently published study, Biofilm Disruption Enhances Antimicrobial Therapy for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth and Intestinal Methanogen Overgrowth. Read the full findings here:https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41394228/

If you've struggled with recurring SIBO and felt like nothing works, this episode will guide you to effective solutions.

Hey, everyone, welcome back.

0:27.3

Let's discuss new options for treating and resolving SIBO, including SIBO biofilm.

0:33.9

Sebo can cause a number of symptoms, both digestive, bloating, gas, pain, altered bowels,

0:40.1

constipation, diarrhea, but even symptoms outside of the intestinal tract, such as, but not limited to,

0:46.0

fatigue, brain fog, restless leg, even rosacea.

0:50.4

And relapse of Cbo or challenges in fully clearing SIBO have been somewhat commonly reported.

0:58.5

And one of the reasons why this occurs is because of biofilms, these sort of slimy layers that protect the bacteria or other organisms and make them more challenging to treat. In fact, a

1:13.5

2023 review paper found two in three of those with IBS have biofilms in their intestinal

1:23.1

tract. And the NIH has commented that 80-80% of all chronic illness is associated with biofilm.

1:34.6

And look at this, I think, just remarkable video footage from the lining of the intestinal tract,

1:43.8

where the gastroenterologist here is attempting

1:48.1

to wash away biofilm. And as you can see here, the highest setting of the water jet is being

1:56.1

used to try and wash away the biofilm and still is unable to be washed away.

2:03.7

Importantly, these slimy films that you're seeing were biopsied and tested and confirmed

2:11.3

via multiple methodologies to in fact be biofilm.

2:16.6

So it's because of all of this, I'm very excited to share with you

2:20.1

a research study. Our clinical research group has just published for the first time documenting

2:27.9

an effective treatment option for SIBO biofilms. So today we will recap clues that you have biofilm, explain why biofilms

2:41.3

can keep your symptoms coming back, and then detail this new protocol that can help eradicate
