Welcome back to the Diet Dr. Podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Brett Schur. Today I'm joined by

Sami Incanin. Now, you've probably heard of Sami Incanin. You've probably heard of Verta Health.

But Osami, he's a data-driven tech entrepreneur. And I think those words fit him so well. And you'll

see during this interview why data-driven, tech and entrepreneur all sort of wrap

up.

And as you'll hear, he actually started off in Finland with a physics degree and worked in

nuclear power plant as a physicist, found his way to Stanford Graduate School of Business

where he got his MBA, co-founded Trulia.com and was the C.O. at that company,

sort of revolutionizing how home real estate is handled. And then because of some personal

health discoveries of bordering on prediabetes, despite being an elite athlete,

stumbled upon co-founding Verda Health with Dr. Jeff Fulik and Stephen Finney,

you know, hear about that story.

But what I see is most impressive is how this company is disrupting or revolutionizing

three different aspects of medical care.

And one is reversing and deprescribing type 2 diabetes, which, you know, again, as a medical

student, as a resident, as a cardiologist, we didn't talk about those types of things until

maybe the past 10 years, certainly the past maybe five years has become more prevalent.

And now a lot of that is thanks to the work from Verda Health.

But also the delivery of health care through a telehealth model and the reimbursement

and the payment structure.

And what Sami and his team, and he's quick to point out is not just him, but it's the whole

team at Verda Health has been able to do, is disrupt all three of these models for health care,
