Welcome to our Tuesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today I'm continuing a series that I started just yesterday talking about 10 reasons it's better to have the Holy Spirit.

Better than what?

Well, let me go back to something that Jesus said. This is one of the most astounding statements in the entire Bible.

He had just told his disciples that he was going to be leaving them.

And he said in John chapter 16, verse 6,

but because I've said these things, unto you sorrow hath filled your heart.

You know, if you could just imagine being with Jesus every day, every night constantly for three and a half years,

seeing all of the miracles, having him show love and minister in a way that nobody else had ever done.

And then you hear this person saying that I'm leaving you.

Man, I believe that all of us sorrow would have filled our heart.

But then he said this, nevertheless, I tell you the truth.

It is expedient for you.

That means it's to your advantage that I go away for if I go not away, the comforter talking about the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit was called the comforter a number of times here in this last discourse that Jesus had with his disciples the night before his crucifixion.

He says, if I go not away, the comforter, the Holy Spirit will not come unto you.

But if I depart, I will send him unto you.

So Jesus said that it's actually better to have the ministry of the Holy Spirit than it is to have him in his physical body.
