September 26th. A New York judge has found former President Donald Trump and his

adult sons liable for fraud in a civil case.

He says the Trump's provided false financial statements to lenders and insurers for roughly

a decade.

The ruling comes days before the case involving the New York Attorney General's office and the

former president was set to go to trial. The ruling means the Attorney General's

office won on its first claim and will receive some repayment that will be

determined at trial.

Among other things, Trump was accused of inflating the value of his golf courses,

hotels and homes at Maralago.

Trump's attorney called the ruling, quote, completely disconnected from the facts and governing law and

is pursuing measures to appeal. Senate leaders have unveiled a bipartisan stopgap

bill as the deadline to avoid a shutdown approaches.

However, it still has to pass in the Senate and the House,

where some Republicans are threatening to block it.

The bill would keep the government funded until November 17th

and include 6.2 billion dollars in Ukraine aid, a provision many

Republicans are opposed to. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy says the funding for

Ukraine should be a standalone bill. An alleged co-conspirator indicted in a bribery scheme

with New Jersey Democratic senator Bob Menendez has been released on bail.

Authorities arrested Wailhana at John F Kennedy International Airport in New York when he returned from Egypt to face the charges this morning.
