President Joe Biden joined members of the United Auto Workers Union, picketing in the battleground

state of Michigan today, Biden expressed his solidarity with union members who are striking against the big three automakers,

General Motors, Ford and Stilantis for a second week.

CNN spoke to autoworker Chanel Holyfield, whose work at Stilantis for 11 years. She says Biden's presence today

could help at the negotiating table. I believe so. I do. I believe so. We had

just see it's a waiting game. We're out here.

The UAW has a list of new contract demands, including a 40% raise over four years.

Biden says he's not worried about what it'll take to get the UAW to endorse him on the 2024 campaign trail.

But he appears to have his work cut out for him to convince voters that his economic policies are working

in the midst of the strike and the threat of a government shutdown.

His predecessor and political rival Donald Trump is expected to make his own appeal to

union workers in Detroit tomorrow in a prime time speech.

A Philadelphia judge dismissed all charges against the city police

officer who fatally shot a man during a traffic stop in August. Officer Mark

Dial had been charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, and five other counts tied to a shooting of Eddie

Irizari last month. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said it disagreed with the decision and planned to appeal.

The defense arguments hinge on whether police believed

Erizari's knife looked like a gun. Dial initially said Erizari had gotten out of the car

and lunged at him. The video from the officer's body-worn cameras showed he never left his vehicle.
