Over a thousand children in Gaza are reportedly missing under the rubble of destroyed buildings.

That's according to two humanitarian aid organizations.

This comes as Israel's military says it's surrounding Gaza City and deepening its operation against Hamas there.

And CNN witnessed the skies over northern Gaza light up with flares and

explosions late Thursday night. Sources tell CNN that the Biden

administration is warning Israel that international support for the country

will weaken

if it doesn't take steps to ease humanitarian suffering and minimize civilian deaths,

and that it will make it harder for Israel to pursue its military goals.

American officials believe Israel doesn't have much time before the humanitarian crisis

in Gaza reaches a tipping point. Two sources said President Joe Biden was particularly

alarmed by Israel's recent airstrikes on a refugee camp, which Israel claimed targeted Hamas commanders.

CNN asked National Security official John Kirby if Israel is still working to minimize civilian casualties given the strikes on the camp.

That is a question for the Israeli defense forces.
