| 0:00.0 | Right now is the most important time to make sure you're making the right lineup decisions in week 13 as we head into the fantasy postseason. So whether you're fighting for a playoff spot or a by week in your league, these are going to be the 10 players that you need to be starting this week. And I've been asked the most about so far. And let's start with the rookie R.J. Harvey from the Denver Broncos because this is a guy who the last time we saw him, right? the Broncos are coming out of their by week. |
| 0:22.0 | The last time we saw him, |
| 0:22.9 | he was a full-time starter for Denver Broncos because this is a guy who the last time we saw him, right? The Broncos are coming out of their by week. |
| 0:22.0 | The last time we saw him, he was a full-time starter for the Broncos with J.K. Dobbins done for the year. And that full-time starter role led to 11 carries for 30 yards against a tough chiefs run defense, nothing crazy. Three catches for 20 yards of which he piled on two of these catches in like 15 yards late in the game to kind of salvage his fantasy day. |
| 0:38.0 | He only still had six and a half fantasy points, |
| 0:40.1 | but if you were rostering him or starting him or playing him in DFS, you know that he basically had like three points up until that final driver. But the important part is not the box score. It is the role. It is the changing of the role that we were basically expecting since J.K. Dobbins was now done for the year, but how much would that role change? Well, we got our answers in week 12 because it changed a good amount. RJ Harvey, season high, 61% of the snap, season high, 61% of the rush attempts, led the backfield with 48% of the routes. We were going to expect him, see, going, expecting him to see a large amount of the workload compared to the other guys in this backfield, right? You're talking about Tyler Badegh, you're talking about Jolio McLaughlin, guys who are not involved in this offense at all this year in that game in week 11 against the chiefs, a very important game not only for the divisions, but the playoff seating and potentially a buy week now for the Broncos in the playoffs. Those other running backs only combined for 16 total snaps. And you can see right here that Zane talks about this over on Twitter. |
| 1:28.7 | He basically breaks it down to say that this was a bit better role than we saw for J.K. Dobbins, just less productive this week. So you know that if you were rostering J.K. Dobbins or in general, Dobbins was a good running back this year so far in fantasy. And the role we just saw for RJ Harvey was actually better. And that makes sense because Harvey is a better pass catcher. |
| 1:44.4 | He's a younger, more explosive back so his body can just probably take on more snaps in general than Dobbins, who is dealing with injuries. And now, here's the deal. If you want to look at this right now, he's coming out of his by week, and it's just the perfect matchup. A night game on Sunday night against the commanders who arguably have one of the worst overall defenses and definitely one of the worst run defense you can see right here according to nfl pro they allow the sixth most rushing yards per game 137 rushing yards per game |
| 2:06.3 | they're allowing more than one rushing touchdown per game this year they currently as it stands right now |
| 2:11.1 | allow 19.4 fantasy points per game which is bottom five in the entire NFL and we've seen this |
| 2:16.7 | exact defense by the commanders |
| 2:18.2 | get shredded by these younger explosive backs all year long. We saw it earlier this season when |
| 2:22.5 | Jamir Gibbs had 142 yards against them. Even David Montgomery had 71. Gibbs had three total |
| 2:27.3 | touchdowns in that game. That was recently in week 10. Then in week 11, Devon H.N goes for |
| 2:31.7 | 120 rushing yards against them. He added, I believe, yeah, 45 receiving yards. So he had 165 yards back-to-back weeks of running back slashing down. Now, of course, Devon A. Chan and Gibbs are some of the best running backs in the league. But they do profile out as the same similar player to RJ Harvey. Young, explosive Harvey during his time in college the last two years led in the entire college football landscape and explosive runs of 10 plus yards. So I do think it's fair to say that he could take advantage of this exact matchup against an older banged up commander's defense and run defense. And this week he's going to be the perfect setup here. A six and a half point road favorite though. Six and a half point favorite means that in the second half you can see Harvey getting loaded up, especially in the fourth quarter if they're playing with a lead in this game. I think Harvey is in a really good spot. I would consider RJ Harvey this week a must start running back in the fantasy blueprint. He's currently a top 20 running back this week. By the way, the fantasy blueprint currently on a Black Friday deal, the only sale and the biggest sale that we will run all year. You can get up to $77 off the fantasy blueprint right now. You can check it out |
| 3:26.1 | at join the blueprint.com backslash hashtag Black Friday. You can check it out now that we're just talking about it quickly. So RJ Harvey Top 20 running back in my weekly rankings over there right now. Now let's get into a wide receiver I want to talk about. Alec Pierce, he came out of his by week last week for the Colts. He had a bunch |
| 3:40.8 | of hype on him. I liked him as a buy low. Some people were dropping him in leagues because he was |
| 3:44.6 | on his by week. I said he was one of the best waiver wire ads. And then what does he do? Of course, he throws egg on my face and he has his worst game of the year in week 12. And that game was not great. But again, it was a tough matchup out there for the Colts against the Chiefs, |
| 3:55.5 | one catch, 26 yards. The more important thing was he only had two targets in this game. |
| 3:59.6 | So yeah, three fantasy points is going to look ugly. I get that, but that does not erase, right? Recency bias is a powerful drug. We talk about it on this channel all the time. That does not erase what he's been doing all year and really the past six weeks before that dud of a game. Because we can't forget that for the month of the season before the Colts by week, he was the best wide receiver on this team. 15 fantasy points per game, nearly nine targets per game, and over 90 receiving yards per game. All of these categories ranked him as a top 20 wide receiver during that stretch. His over 90 receiving yards per game was actually top 10 amongst wide receivers. He was a difference maker on offense during that time. He was fantastic. He also found the end zone the last time we saw him before the buy week as well for his first time. He was a legitimate flex option or wide receiver two for you in your fantasy lineups. In one down week, in a tough matchup and a divisional matchup, or not a divisional, but a playoff matchup against the chiefs or a potential playoff matchup, it's not going to erase everything he's done this year. And the best thing about this is like he just continues to see the target share despite battling with guys like Michael Pittman and Josh Downs. Over his last four games before that Chiefs game, Alec Pierce had a 29% that's elite, 16%, 24% is good and 27% that's elite target share during that time while being a top 12 fantasy wide receiver. So look, here's the deal. Now he's going to get a match up this week where I think we're going to maybe see a little bit more of a test yet again against the Texan secondary. Although the Texans pass rush and run defense is great, you can throw on this secondary. Last time we saw them, we saw Kalir Shakir have 110 yards, eight touchdowns. Now I will say, of course, Derek Stingley is back there, wide receiver ones on the outside. Alec Pierce might have to face off against him. So it's not the best situation on paper, but this is still a matchup where you can get yours deep in the middle of the field against the Texans. And if there's one player on this team that's going to be the guy who's getting targeted downfield, it's easily Alec Pierce. |
| 5:38.0 | This matchup for the Colts is at home, which helps them. |
| 5:40.0 | They're four and a half point favorites. |
